For my rest of you assignment this week we had to take a look at our data - I managed to pull my data from my iMessage. I’ve had an iPhone I believe since 2010. So I’ve had around 11 years worth of messages. Plus or minus a broken phone here and there.
I found a python tutorial to try and build some insights about the messages I was sensing.
One of the first things I did was analyze the count of words I said.
| Text | Occurrences |
|---|---|
| yep | 1282 |
| yea | 1187 |
| oh okay | 1109 |
| ye | 1018 |
| yes | 580 |
| gotcha | 576 |
| exactly | 516 |
| ya | 504 |
| hahahah | 485 |
| perf | 376 |
I guess i’m very agreeable. I don’t see too many times where I say no. 😅
I also seem to find things very funny - “Hahahah”

I really thought that my most used cuss word would be fuck but when analyzing my data it turns out it was 3rd!
I also found this tool called the iMessage Analyzer
GitHub - dsouzarc/iMessageAnalyzer: Analyzes a user's iMessage
This was looking at my messages with a long term relationships I had

In March of 2020, the number of texts went down - I sent her this graph and she reminded be that was when our lockdown started. It’s crazy how much time has passed that I had essentially forgotten

I was actually kind of surprised that the split was so even! But it looked like I wanted to talk more.

I loved how the text ratio changed after 11 pm!
