Senses Diary

Smith House - Thomas Jefferson University

I travelled to Philadelphia last week for work and got a chance to reflect on the campus I was at. The cold air entered my nose and gave me this sense of freshness. The grass, and general greenery around was a nice sight to see especially in comparison to the concrete-ness of New York. As I walked around the campus I gave the trees special attention - It made the place feel a lot less sterile and took away from the serious nature of it.

I wonder if theres a correlation there, like how many plants can I add to increase the amount of happiness to a place. And what plants ? Like a room filled with cacti might not have the same effect as a room full of sunflowers or a room full of pothoseseseses.

Roof of Ava Dobro

The overlapping sounds of conversation and music filled up the lounge as I stood outside. The sky was a hazy purple because of the fog, the closest hex I could find to it was #AC95B1. This reminded me of one of my favorite stories as a child - Robi Dobi

Robi Dobi the elephant travels with his friend a mouse who was dyed orange and wants to get the dye off. So they make their way towards the only person who has his original color. the Great Painter in the Sky - With her long neck and arms, she was able to reach every corner of the sky. With her large pallet she was able to create all the wonderful colors that the sky presents us with.

Stepping outside from the party into the dense fog, head in the clouds as the rain was misted me and the people around. It felt almost unreal to look up into the sky and see the haunting purple all around me.

Brooklyn Bridge Park

This was like every other visit to the park. But as part of this assignment, I needed to pay special attention to my senses. I don’t think it helped that I picked one of the coldest days this week to venture outside by the waterfront but something did catch my attention.

Birds!

I don’t know too much about birds, but I appreciated them engaging with their natural habitat. Even though it was bitterly cold, the birds went about their business, hopping from branch to branch. Looking for what the next interesting thing was. The other thing that fascinated me was that they were all perched on the stumps by the Brooklyn Bridge Park

What were they doing here ? Why were they 1 to a stump ? I like to think they were all there hanging out. But each having their own unassigned assigned seat
