QR codes are a pattern that I see over and over again. They used to be terribly unreliable and was a hallmark of bad design. You needed a separate app to be able to scan the code itself. Now they are ubiquitous in the retail world, in a way becoming the modern url shortener. Do I like scanning them ? I don’t know, I like when people have fun with them however.

A simple pattern on my ceiling. Taking naps on my couch have become a frequent occurrence with this being one of the last patterns I take note of before closing my eyes. I absolutely hate bare ceilings. A lot of people dislike the idea of “popcorn” ceilings but I kind of like them.

Citibikes are part of the thriving network of public transportation in New York. Seeing the location, frequency, and even number of bikes are an interesting study in why certain locations have higher traffic than others.

When Joseph R Disco first invented the disco ball, crowds would gather to witness the intricate hypnosis effect of the light bouncing off the individual panels. More places should have them.
